What's included in our End of Tenancy Cleaning service?

The kitchen is cleaned thoroughly as follows

The end of tenancy cleaning service assumes the property has one of each type of appliance. This means one oven, one fridge, one washing machine… You get the point. We clean all appliances.

If there is more than one of these appliances, please let us know in your booking request. No matter how clean your kitchen seems, we need to clean it according to the standards and requirements of your landlord and real estate agency so you can get your deposit back. This means absolutely everything needs to be cleaned without exception.

Here’s what a detailed kitchen cleaning looks like:

  • We clean all cabinets and drawers. Our cleaners use detergents in accordance with the surfaces. All cabinets and drawers get cleaned inside and out;
  • We clean the kitchen cabinets, including their highest part. If there is some space between the cabinets and the ceiling, we clean that, too. Landlords love to check that space for dust or dirt since people often forget to clean it;
  • We wipe down the microwave inside and out;
  • Clean all sides of the washing soap dispenser, machine, and filters;
  • The dishwasher gets a detailed treatment. This includes removing the limescale deposits to give it a shiny new look;
  • We also clean and degrease the inside and outside of the oven. This includes the racks, even though they can be particularly tricky at times. Please, let us know what type of oven you have on the property (single, double, range, AGA). By default, we assume it’s a single oven;
  • Clean and polish hob and grill;
  • Clean and polish gas rings, as well as gas control knobs. Those are usually hard to clean without specialised detergents;
  • Clean the washing machine inside and out. This includes wiping the rubber at the door. Another detail landlords and letting agents often pay attention to;
  • Clean, degrease and polish the extractor fan and the filters;
  • We remove mold and grease from wall tiles, then wash and polish them. The idea is to give the kitchen tiles a fresh new look without undergoing actual repairs;
  • We also clean the exterior of all kitchen appliances such as kettle, toaster, etc. Oftentimes, they require special attention due to their constant use;
  • Wipe and wash down kitchen worktops. Once again, we use detergents in accordance with the countertop material. You don't need to worry about damage;
  • Remove limescale and polish the sink and taps;
  • Clean windows from the inside. Also, wipe down window sills and frames;
  • Take off the dust from all skirting boards;
  • Wipe all woodwork (doors, door frames). The top of the door is yet another place people often forget to clean;
  • Wipe down the radiators. We also use a brush to clean behind the radiators;
  • Clean all plugs and light switches;
  • Vacuum and mop the floors. The service doesn't include professional detailed carpet cleaning, but we can include it if you want. However, it will cost extra.

Bathroom(s), cleaning to shine

Our on-site cleaning professionals are experts at bringing sparkle to the bathroom. We remove accumulated scale, disinfect, and clean to sparkle. Here's some more detailed information:

  • We remove and wash limescale deposits from tiles, taps, showers, sinks, baths, and etc. This gives everything a fresher look;
  • Wash and polish the shower cabinet on the inside and out;
  • Clean, disinfect, and polish the toilet on the inside and out;
  • Wash tiles and the grout between the tiles. We also remove mould and wipe the tiles. Mould is another huge issue for landlords;
  • Clean and polish the mirrors. Dirty mirrors are usually the first thing someone notices when entering the bathroom;
  • Clean windows from the inside. Also, wipe down window sills and frames;
  • Wipe down the door, frames, skirting boards;
  • Wipe and clean towel rail;
  • Clean the bathroom fan;
  • Disinfect and mop the floor;
  • Wipe down the radiators. We also use a brush to clean behind the radiators.

Bedroom(s) also need special attention

While they're usually the best-maintained rooms in an average home, they're still some specifics people often miss. Our professional cleaners will ensure your bedroom is thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom. This is what we’re talking about:

  • We clean the doors, including the top, which most people forget;
  • We wipe down skirting boards all wooden furniture, carefully removing any dust;
  • Clean windows from the inside. Also, wipe down window sills and frames;
  • Clean the inside and outside of cupboards, wardrobes, etc. This also includes the top part where dust usually accumulates;

Reception room

The reception room is the place where we entertain visitors. So naturally, it's oftentimes the best looking since we want to put our best foot forward. However, it still needs a detailed cleaning. We clean everything you would expect and some things you wouldn’t expect. Here's what we mean:

  • We clean the doors, including the tops since most people forget;
  • Wipe down skirting boards all wooden furniture to clean off the dust;

Finally, the high-traffic areas. Here’s what we do:

  • Remove all cobwebs;
  • Clean cornice and curtain rails and pictures;
  • Clean and polish the mirrors. As we've already established, dirty mirrors usually attract attention;
  • Clean and polish the windows on the inside. This also includes sills and frames;
  • We vacuum the upholstery. We also remove the cushions and clean under them. Though detailed upholstery cleaning is a separate service you can order
  • We clean the doors, including the top, which most people forget;
  • Wipe all skirting boards and woodworks of dust;
  • Wipe down the banister, stairway, and railings;
  • Clean lights switches and lights fittings, plugs, lampshades, and sockets;
  • Dust and polish all flat surfaces;
  • Vacuum and mop the floors. The service doesn't include professional detailed carpet cleaning, but we can add it if you want. However, it will cost extra.

For security reasons, we dispose of rubbish and waste accumulated as a result of the moving out (no more than 2 medium-sized bags), as well as from the cleaning.

What is included in our Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Service? (optional)

Before we introduce you to the details of these services, we want you to know that when you combine them with End of tenancy cleaning, you can get up to a 50% discount.

Not every home requires carpet and upholstery cleaning services as a part of end of tenancy cleaning. That’s why they’re optional services and must be requested when you make the booking enquiry. However, you need to know that most landlords and real estate agencies require carpets and upholstery to be professionally cleaned before tenants leave.

Here's what the services include:

  • All materials, equipment, and labour are included;
  • Thorough power vacuum of the areas to extract all dust;
  • Pre-treatment of all spots, marks, and stains including the high traffic areas;
  • Deep cleaning of the areas/items with our Professional Steam Cleaning equipment by using the most suitable method for your carpets and upholstery;
  • Deodorising to prolong the freshness of the carpet as much as possible.

Please note that steam cleaning is not suitable for all fibers and carpets. Our trained technicians will determine the most appropriate method for cleaning your upholstery or carpets. However, let us know if there are delicate fibers on the property.

At the completion of the cleaning process, the carpet/upholstery on the property will be clean and healthy. If there are still any visible spots or marks, the fibres or the carpet have suffered permanent discolouration. Reasons for this can be stains from coffee, red wine, ink, black tea, etc. that stayed for a certain period of time thus causing damage to the fibres. Another reason might be treating a stain with non-professional detergents.

What is optional in the service?

  • External areas of the property (optional) - If you require External Window Cleaning, Balconies, Gardens, Garages, etc. to be cleaned, please let us know in advance and we will be happy to add any of these;

  • Blinds (optional) - Cleaning of plastic/metal, shutter, or wooden blinds is cleaned upon request and our technicians will clean your blinds with care to return them looking as good as new;

  • Plates and Utensils hand washing (optional) - While they’re not included, we can help you arrange them for an additional cost;

  • The conservatory (optional) - Because not every property has a conservatory, it’s an object to additional charges. Please let us know about the size of the conservatory before booking;

  • Oven disassembly (optional) - When an oven is not regularly maintained and cleaned, it can trap dirt trapped internally and between the double glass of the oven door. A professional technician will disassemble all removable parts of the oven, clean it internally and then put everything back together before testing your appliance. We will advise you if such service is recommended for your oven.

If you require cleaning behind fitted appliances, you must arrange for a specialist to disconnect and move them out. This is the only way our operatives can access and clean behind them.

What is not included as a standard?

Our teams will do their best to move small furniture out of the way so we can provide you with the best possible service. Provided any items of furniture can easily and safely be moved by one person.

We do NOT move wardrobes and heavy beds or fitted appliances (such as Washing Machines, Driers, Dish Washers, Fridge and Freezers) in kitchens and utility rooms for health and safety reasons.

In our quotation prices, we assume the size of the appliances to be standard. Large appliances such as American-style refrigerators, range cookers, etc. may incur additional charges so please let us know about this when you fill the booking enquiry.

  • We do NOT wash or clean/wipe painted walls and ceilings. We do not do this because scratched, worn, or damaged paint on the wall is subject to painting and any attempt to clean it will smudge or further damage the wall. This means you get part of your deposit withheld, and we don’t want to be responsible for that, so we simply don’t do it;
  • We do NOT dispose of waste pre-collected by the customer. First off, there is often nowhere to dispose of waste. This is a rubbish removal service. And second, we’d have no idea what we are disposing of;
  • Please note that the rust cannot always be cleaned. However, we will try;
  • With this service, the removal of paint splashes is not provided. This is inherent in After Builders Cleaning.

How to prepare for the service?

When you hire our company for your End of tenancy cleaning service, you’ve already done almost everything to guarantee a spotless property and getting your deposit back (at least as far as cleaning is concerned).

However, there are a few necessary things our professional team expects when they arrive at your address:

  • First of all, let your landlord or agency know in writing that you will be using a professional cleaning company before returning the keys. Be sure to tell them that we have a 72-hour guarantee on cleaning if they have any claims to cleaning. This happens to us extremely rarely (at most once a calendar year), but it is still important to let them know. You can send them our details as well;
  • Please, try to be on time at the address to let our team in or ensure someone else is there on time in case you have not arranged to pick up the keys from another place in advance;
  • It is very important for this type of service that your landlord's property is empty when we arrive, which means that you have removed all your belongings beforehand. In short - the property should be empty before we arrive;
  • During the cleaning, you or your family must be out of the property for security reasons;
  • After the cleaning, no one has the right to use the property until the visit of the person who will inspect the property;
  • It often happens, at the time of stuff collection that tenants get rid of their old and unnecessary items by relying on cleaning staff to dispose of them. However, for security reasons, we are not allowed to do this, so we kindly ask you not to leave bags or belongings that our staff can throw away;
  • If you have stains on your sofa or carpet, please do not treat them with anything before our arrival. This can cause permanent damage. Our specialists use the latest technology and detergents to remove stains;
  • And finally, during the cleaning, you need to give us peace of mind so that we can do our job properly.
